Neuro-development for Learning & Behavioural Difficulties
In this 30 minutes interview, Niki McGlynn tells us how NeuroDevelopment and Movement Patterns can help with learning & behavioural difficulties. It is particularly interesting if you are a parent, work with children, or have difficulties yourself.
Niki helps children (and adults) who have problems with focus, attention, behaviour, late bed-wetting, dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism etc.. using simple movement patterns to help integrate retained primitive reflexes.
In this interview we are discussing the following
- What primitive reflexes are
- How they interfere with normal development.
- Which modern habits can impair babies’ movements and interfere with proper development, balance, hearing, sight, etc…
- Links with anxiety and processing disorders.
- How to notice potential issues in adult, at the workplace (see details below)
- How simple movement can help with bonding, ease physical/mental issues, rewire/reroute the brain and repair some damages (e.g. after traumatic pregnancy/birth), including serious conditions (non-verbal, disabled, incontinent, violent)
- Testimonial from a dad that has used Neuro-Development with his child
Although reflex integration programmes are primarily aimed at children, the majority of adults have some degree of retained reflexes. These can be barely noticeable in day to day life but become more apparent at times of stress or in some people can be quite debilitating. People who struggle to adapt to change such as moving desks or new management may have retained fear reflexes, people who fidget, rock their chairs and struggle to pay attention may have retained spinal reflexes and people who struggle to organise themselves, get things done in time or get to meetings on time may have retained neck reflexes.
